The size of tankers ranges from small tankers LR1/LR2 VLCCS and specialized vessels petroleum products (including naphtha, jet fuel, gasoline, gasoil, and fuel oil).

LNG is this rapidly expanding and specialized sector. Elena Shipping has had a chartering desk in place for years now and follows the market trends and developments. The particular trade entails a natural gas refrigerated to its liquid state as transportation and storage. Demand for this clean fossil fuel is very high, and it is an alternative sustainable fuel until we reach the zero carbon targets by 2050. LNG vessels have specialized cryogenic handling equipment and cargo containment systems able to carry LNG cooled to -160° C. With a rapidly evolving LNG market, newer vessels are being designed and built to incorporate continuous technical innovations; noticeably increased cargo carrying capacity, more efficient hull designs and propulsion systems, enhanced cargo insulation and improvements of on-board liquefaction and re-gasification.

Elena Shipping have developed a formal chartering strategy by the Company’s Senior Management. The strategy’s scope and objectives are clearly defined, well understood, and communicated to all Company’s personnel. The strategy and its objectives will be continuously reviewed and challenged to reflect internal or external environment changes.

We insisted as a company that the Chartering Department evaluates the vessel’s employment by assessing its profitability compared with the shipping market conditions/ trends. The assessment results should be analyzed and reported to Senior Management and could serve as input for potential changes to the Chartering strategy, if and when needed.

Elena Shipping made it part of our corporate policy to evaluate the performance of the Company by the Charterers by using a predefined “Customers Satisfaction” form upon the completion of each employment. Furthermore, upon collecting the survey results, the forms should be maintained in the Company’s files to be available to the responsible personnel, and the conclusions derived from the survey should be analyzed to adjust if needed, the activities that emerged as performance weaknesses.
